FUNDAMENTALS OF PATTERNMAKING
Patternmaking is the art of technically translating the designer’s illustration or sketch into a two-dimensional blueprint that will be used to communicate how a garment will be constructed. Fundamentals of Patternmaking course covers from the correct usage of patternmaking tools, accurately measuring the female body, the disciplines in precisely drafting the basic and different kinds of skirt and bodice style lines, set-in sleeves, collars, extensions and plackets, and various necklines.
ADVANCED PATTERNMAKING TECHNIQUES
Advanced Patternmaking is an extensive study with practical applications in various dart manipulation techniques, variations of the sleeves, drafting the bodice and the swimsuit, several applications of the cowl and twist, construction of the ladieswear blazers and pants, and the creation of our very own “The Philippine Terno.”
COUTURE & DRAPING TECHNIQUES
Couture & Draping Techniques focuses on the unique technique of garment construction called draping. The lessons are various methods in doing draping techniques to create different garments. Also included in the course are lessons in Japanese-style methods like 3D pattern techniques, polyhedron bodice pattern, and other contemporary pattern manipulation techniques.
